The main massage of the Foundation is facilitating ideas of making life opportunities equal, in particular with respect to all disabled children and people severely experienced by fate.
JOLANTA KWAŚNIEWSKA’S FOUNDATION „COMUNICATION WITHOUT BARRIEERS’ has been established in 1997. The foundation acts continuously improving types and quality of the support provided. JKF was granted a status of Public Benefit Organization in 2004. The foundation mark of a butterfly represents spring, blooming life, hope and joy. Activity as set forth in the Memorandum and Articles of the Foundation is to support initiatives for civilization and cultural changes which create equal conditions in regard to opportunities for intellectual, occupational, social and cultural development of people. The programme of the Foundation is written and constantly verified by life. Not only individuals, but also hospitals, hospices, rehabilitation centres, associations, other foundations and child care facilities. The oldest programme named “They must live” includes support for hospitals where the foundation donates transplantation stations designed for children with leukaemia.
The greatest Foundation welfare for chronically ill children from Pomorze region was commissioning the hospital building in 2005 – Department of Haematology and Oncology for Children on Paediatric Clinic, Haematology, Oncology and Endocrinology on the Paediatric Institute AMG fully designed and build by the Foundation. The Medical Academy of Gdańsk can today be proud of astonishing building in which chronically ill children find strength and motivation to fight for their own life and health.
The Foundation introduced the Butterfly Hospitals programme, thanks to which a gray-white reality of hospital departments for children has been changed into colourful world of fairytale. Colours help children to face the surrounding reality (painful treatment, drips, examination).
The programme “Let’s open the world to children” includes trips to interesting places and regions of the world organized by the foundation. It is mainly aimed to children whose fathers passed away on duty. We also fund rehabilitation camps for chronically ill and disabled children.
Young Talents Help Fund of Jolanta and Aleksander Kwasniewscy collaborates with the Foundation providing scholarships to particularly gifted students, mainly disabled and of poor families.
One of the most spectacular projects the Foundation performed includes annual educational fairs, i.e. You can make it before the cancer, Have hart and care for it, What every big boy should know. The projects are designed to promote a healthy lifestyle and education about prevention against diseases of civilization among society.
The Foundation collaborates with numerous national and international non-governmental organizations.
