ECPC Members in Action 2009 – Masterclasses on Cancer Patient Advocacy. Jolanta Kwaśniewska’s decoration for help in saving lives.

On 24-25 October 2009, an international conference was held, the fourth from the cycle of “ECPC Masterclasses”. It was attended by patients, clinicians, researchers and politicians, who want to change the attitude of the general public to issues related to cancer.

Participants decided that the European Patient Organizations must actively an effectively convince to the actions aimed to eliminate disparities in prevention, diagnosis, effective treatment and best possible patient care. On the conference they discussed the possibilities of acting both at European and national level. The particular hope is in opened less than two months ago the European Partnership (European Partnership on Action against Cancer).
Jolanta Kwaśniewska led one of the plenary sessions of the conference, she also gave a speech: „Why we should do more for children”.

The two-day meeting concluded solemn honors for Jolanta Kwaśniewska and Alojz Peterle for long, wide and national efforts for patients with cancer and for their help in saving human life.
