THE FOUNDATION “COMMUNICATION WITHOUT BARRIERS” – FIRST PRIZE WINNER OF ST. CAMILLE’S CONTEST

“Communication without Barriers” Foundation was awarded for a “long-term dedicated service for the benefit of sick children and exemplary attitude,” action “Restoring Hope” and the construction of the Children’s Oncology Clinic in Gdansk. St. Camille’s awards were also granted to persons and institutions that stand out in a special way of assistance to mother and child. Other awards winners include: “Childbirth with Dignity Foundation,” prof. Christopher German, Catherine Pinkosz and TVN Foundation “You are not alone.” The ceremony was attended by Polish Primate Archbishop Henryk Muszynski.

The award of St. Camille, the patron of patients and health professionals, was established in 2007 at the initiative of the Order of Ministers to the Sick and the The Institute of Patient Rights and Pro-Health Education. It is awarded on the occasion of the World Day of the Sick, every year in another area of medicine.

World Day of the Sick has been celebrated from 1993 on February 11. It was established by Pope John Paul II on May 13, 1992 in the 75th anniversary of Fatima revelation and the 11th anniversary of the assassination attempt on his life.
