Jolanta Kwaśniewska is the founder and Chairman of the foundation “Communication Without Barriers” whose main goal is to aid chronically ill children and their families. The foundation promotes a healthy lifestyle through nationwide pro-health activities and also fights against such social problems as violence against women, slave labour or people trafficking. She is a progenitor of such programmes of the foundation as “Butterfly Hospitals” (activities aiming at changing dull hospital wards into a world of children’s imagination), “Let’s Open the World to the Children” (holiday excursions for poor children), “Don’t Give Up, Everything Is OK” (prophylaxis for osseus system), “You Can Make it Before Cancer Does” (prophylaxis for Nipple Cancer), “What Every Grown-up Boy Ought to Know” (a programme of health prophylaxis for men). She was and still is an animator for many pro-health activities. With her husband, Mr. President Aleksander Kwaśniewski, she has founded Scholarship for Young Talents Fund, which financially and materially aids poor but talented Polish youth. She is also a member of: Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Partnership Foundation, Comité des Sages, Honourary Council of International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, Board of Suzanne Mubarak Women’s International Peace Movement, Women Leaders’ Council and European Advisory Council. A patron of European Cancer Patient Coalition and European Institute of Women’s Health. She is a doctor honoris causa and was awarded an Order of Smile.

Ms. Irena Santor has supported „Communication Without Barriers” foundation since its very beginning. Her smile and voice has accompanied us for 12 years. For several years we have had an opportunity to benefit from her knowledge and experience. We have witnessed her work and effectiveness in various activities mainly in the field of fighting against cancer. She was and still is an animator of many activities concerning health prophylaxis. We are convinced that her cooperation with us thus far has made a significant contribution in spreading the knowledge on the importance of prophylaxis and early diagnosis in curing cancer.

Ms. Irena Santor is a top-celebrity, an individual with a great degree of sensitivity and honesty, one that someon can rely on in every situation. She possesses a great gift and ability to gather people around important ideas linked with the notion of improving the quality of life of people suffering and the ones that were cured from cancer and to change the attitude of society towards these concepts. She entrances people regardless of their age, social or educational background. Her personality and dedication are the factors that make the number of people wanting to cooperate with her and participate in her endavours larger and larger.

Thanks to her unique ability to arouse the interest of others in her ideals she shapes the proper attitudes in people towards the ones suffering and cured from cancer. Her social work has always addressed a social problem. When she supported young musically talented children in Poland, mainly disabled and poor ones, she at the same time improved the educational conditions of these children. Even now, her help marks a very important moment in the memories of the ones who benefited and now realise their life plans.
