International conference – End Human Trafficking Now: Enforcing UN Protocol, The Luxor International Forum, Egypt

In the scope of the End Human Trafficking Now campaign which started several years ago, an international conference took place on 10-12 December, 2010 in Luxor. One of the discussed issues was the so-called Palermo Protocol – the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially women and children, supplementing the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime.

The role of business in the fight against human trafficking was also discussed, which resulted in the development of Guidelines to the Athens Ethical Principles.

The Chairman of Jolanta Kwasniewska’s Foundation participated in the conference bringing up the problem of forced labour in Poland.
